I bought my first orchid in February of 2013, and have been in love ever since. Three new orchids just arrived in the mail this weekend, and I am totally delighted! They are all small and 2-3 years away from blooming.

I don't understand people who throw orchids away after they bloom. The year-long wait (or 2-3 years for my new babies!) for the next booms makes them seem even more beautiful.

I am considering purchasing a metal Ikea cabinet and turning it into a mini greenhouse. Apparently this is a thing and there are Ikea cabinet greenhouse groups on all the major online social networks which I can't see since I'm not on any of the major online social networks.

My last orchid haul was a birthday gift from my parents. One teen orchid and two babies, and they're doing well.
